Our first time in Norway, which also happened to be Bridgette’s 40th country! We absolutely LOVED our time at the charming capital of Oslo, especially Aker Brygge which is the waterfront promenade that has a ton of nice restaurants. Since we lived close by, we found ourselves here nearly everyday, whether it’s for a nice meal of Norwegian salmon or a delicious chocolate dipped ice cream cone, or an evening stroll to admire the beautiful views.
These two BFFs reunited in Norway this summer! They use to spend every summer together at our home in the Bay Area, but decided to adventure together in a new country instead this year. Guess who was blessed enough to be included in this special trip with them? 😊️
Being a dad to a teenager is a totally different ballgame, but I love that Alan continues to evolve in his role to be the best possible dad to Bridgette. He is so motivated to understand and to be a part of her world in every season of her life, even when they are oceans apart. He recently learned all the names and personalities of @bts.bighitofficial and @enhypen members because Bridge is currently SO passionate about them. Now isn’t that true love? 😆
Traveling together as 3 generations turned out to be absolutely wonderful! Bridge and I surprised my mom with this trip so she had no idea we were taking her to Iceland until we landed. We picked Iceland because we knew she loves nature and beautiful landscapes, and that’s truly what this country is all about!
We stayed at a horse breeding farm in Iceland and learned so much about these beautiful, gentle Icelandic horses! We even got to see one give birth to a foal from afar. Our host pointed it out to us and we were anxiously asking him if he needed to go help her in any way, but he responded that nature will do it’s job.
Our first stop in Iceland was the Blue Lagoon, a place that had been on my bucket list for awhile now. As we were headed there, I did wonder if it would feel too much like a “tourist trap.” But, it ended up completely exceeding my expectations! We absolutely LOVED our time there! Here are some tips to visiting this magical place:
