Lake Tahoe in the Summer

We ended our summer with a fun trip to Lake Tahoe for 3 nights with a bunch of our friends. 8 families to be exact! Lucky for us, we found a 10,000 sq ft. house that not only fit all of us, but also included a movie theater, game room, and a huge back yard! It was a good thing the house provided so many activities because there were thunderstorms 2 out of the 3 days that we were there.

On day 1, when the skies were still clear, we spent the afternoon at El Dorado Beach, which was just about a 15 minute drive from our cabin. It was the same beach that we went to last year, except that we hardly recognized it because the tides were so much higher this time around! Nonetheless, the kiddos loved their time in the water and sand!

On day 2, the weather forecast called for thunderstorms in the afternoon, so we took advantage of the clear skies in the morning to take the kids fishing at a nearby fish farm. Surprisingly, none of them were afraid of the live fishes and had a fantastic time!

The benefit of fishing at a fish farm is that your success rate is guaranteed. 🙂 That afternoon, we all got to enjoy the fruit of our success with a delicious BBQ!

We definitely ended up spending more time inside rather than outside for this trip, but that didn’t bother the kids at all. Between board games, the foosball table, pool table, mahjong table, movie theater, and air hockey table, there were no shortage of things to entertain everyone!
