With the start of Bridgette’s unschooling in January, we decided it’d be fun to spend Chinese New Year in Hong Kong with my family. Bridgette didn’t need any convincing since her BFF would have nearly 10 days off for the annual Chinese holiday, and my sis promised a fun side trip to Taipei with the girls. Off we went for the umpteenth time to our “second home”…

First order of business was to see my parents, and to eat delicious street food together. Yum!!!
During the first week of our arrival, Brianne still had school, so I tried to find interesting things to do around the city with Bridgette.

One highlight of the trip was getting to celebrate Brianne’s birthday with her. Since it falls on January 26th, during school year, we hardly ever get to celebrate her birthday together. Extra bonus for unschooling! 🙂

We even got invited to Bree’s class for their January birthday celebration! Bridge was super excited to see what her class was like, and to meet her teacher and classmates.
With Mimi pregnant, I didn’t want to plan too many activities that could be strenuous for her. She gets tired as it is driving us around all the time. Besides, the girls love staying home and hanging out at the playground. As long as we are all together, life is good. 🙂

Whenever I get to take the girls out on my own, I love taking the MTR and giving them the chance to figure out how to maneuver through the subway system in HK. They love it too, minus the crowd which always makes us feel like we will be trampled over any minute!

Part II. coming soon!
