Beach Bums in the Fall

The weather around here seems to be getting stranger and stranger every year. We’ve definitely experienced the temperature drop that is typical of the Fall season’s arrival, but it certainly hasn’t stayed with us for more than a few days at a time. There were many days in between the chilliness where we could have sworn it was still summer. In fact, it was so warm one week that I got to enjoy the beach two days in a row!

One of the perks of moving to the peninsula is that it brought us closer to the coast, which I love. We’re about 25 minutes away from the beaches of Half Moon Bay. On one of the warmer days we had this month, the girls and I decided to hit the beach and savor in the last few drops of sunshine before the rain. It was fantastic!

We went to the quiet, secluded public beach next to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Half Moon Bay. Besides an occasional jogger or two, we were the only ones there the entire time. The water was icy cold with crashing waves, so we remained mostly on the sand, but had so much fun squealing as the freezing water washed over our feet from time to time.

Calling the waves to come!
Woohoo!
Fun times
Taking a break to enjoy some snacks that I brought along
The little sand artists at work
Leaving her small footprints behind…
Jump for joy!
What an extraordinary day!!!! 🙂
