I’m officially 46! The older I get, the more I realize to not take anything for granted. Every day, I am reminded of the blessings that come in all forms…a kind stranger that helped me with my luggage today, a warm coat and snow boots as I trek a mile in blizzard-like weather, the convenience of turning on a faucet that provides hot water, a daughter that knows me so well she can literally finish my sentences, a simple happy birthday text from friends and family…and so on. 🙏
Booked a cute afternoon tea at the @hiltontokyo to celebrate Brianne and Bridgette’s sweet 16 while in Tokyo. It’s strawberry season so the strawberry theme was strong. It was such a cute tea set and I Iove that the girls got to celebrate this milestone birthday together! I cannot be more proud of the young women they have become, and I just love them to pieces…but does anyone know how to stop time? 🥹
Bridgette found @tokyocyclingtour_toshi_sakae on @airbnbexperiences and thought it sounded really interesting, so we signed up for it without even realizing just how popular this tour is! Waking up at 4am was brutal, but it was SO worth it. We started off at the new Toyosu Market to watch and learn about the tuna auctioning process, then toured the wholesale market to pick some fresh fish and seafood for our lunch. This part of the market is not open to the general public so we were only able to go in by tagging along with our guide Toshi-san. He introduced many vendors to us at the market who not only gave us the freshest seafood, but also taught us things like the different kinds of knives used for different parts of the fish.
While on this trip, Bridgette and her cousin Brianne have been introducing their grandparents to some of their favorite things, like making reels! I laughed so hard filming this, especially at some of my dad’s poses. 🤣
Yup, I’m the evil aunt that introduced cotton candy to my 6 year old nephew, and ofcourse I had to do it right by getting a giant, colorful one that’s more than half the size of him. 😂
Born into the same family as first cousins, but chose to be best friends for life. These two are celebrating their sweet 16 birthdays together in their favorite place! ❤️
