Before we roll into September, I want to share some pictures of our August birthday celebrations, beginning with my mother in law’s birthday…
We got her the St. Honore cake from Schubert’s Bakery in the city, which everyone loved. Seriously, this cake is to die for. Even Alan, who tends to steer clear of sweets, helped himself to two servings. It is that good! Here is the actual description from Schubert’s website:
Puff pastry layered with chocolate, rum custard, white cake, and whipped cream, garnished with cream puffs and lady fingers.
They do require pre-order for this cake, so don’t expect to pick one up impromptu while you’re in their ‘hood, as I made the mistake of doing that once.
Next, we celebrated my adorable nephew Jovian’s 3rd birthday, nautical theme and all. The kids had a really fun time running around the clubhouse and ‘fishing’ for prizes. 🙂
Two weeks ago, we celebrated my uncle’s big 7oth birthday at my cousin’s new restaurant, Cooking Papa in Foster City. Being in the restaurant business, my cousin is never one to skimp when it comes to food, especially for birthdays! That evening, we had an 8 course feast with abalone, crab, a 6 lb lobster, just to name a few.

Yesterday, we ended all the birthday festivities with one last birthday party for the month. Happy 1st birthday to Issac Wong!
Issac celebrated his first birthday at a park in Millbrae, under the glorious sunshine, with more kids than I could count. Bridgette had a great time with many of her friends there, and as always, was the first to be in place when it came time to cut the cake!

Ofcourse, there was also one very special ‘birth’ day in August….
