A Heartfelt Thank You

I started this blog last Fall, and it was intended to be an easy way for my mom and sister in Hong Kong to keep up with Bridgette’s cuteness over here. It was also intended to preserve all the wonderful memories of our family for Bridgette to read when she is older. However, it seems to have evolved into a personal outlet for me to share a lot of my thoughts on parenting, relationships, and life in general. I began receiving emails from friends and from strangers, thanking me for sharing certain perspectives which they found to be encouraging, comforting, or inspiring. I was really touched that they would take the time to write me.

Unlike my business blog in which I track its statistics on a weekly basis, I’ve never tracked my stats for this blog. After receiving all those emails, I was curious to know my readership. WordPress actually makes it really easy to see your stats; I just never had the urge to look at it. When I finally took a look last week, I was bewildered to find out that I’ve had close to 6,000 unique visitors since I began writing the blog 9 months ago. Now that’s a really small number if this was a business blog, or if I wanted to sell ad space on my blog, but for a blog that serves the sole purpose of a modern journal, that’s pretty darn high. I seriously thought that only my closest friends and families have been reading my blog!

Writing has always been therapeutic for me, and one of my greatest passions in life. It also comes naturally to me, and I attribute that to my obsessive reading habits beginning at a very young age. I want to thank each and every person who has taken the time to read this blog, and for connecting with me through this blog in many different ways. Many of my blog posts were inspired by you, so thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.

Lollipop, anyone?
