It was somewhat of a last minute decision that we decided to take a trip to Las Vegas for Christmas this year. A few of our friends were going, and Bridgette had 10 days off from school, so we packed our bags again and headed for the airport on Christmas day.
The last few times I went to Vegas, I stayed at the Wynn and Encore, and LOVED both hotels. But, there is certainly no shortage of new hotels to try out in Vegas, so I decided to give the new Vdara a try. It is located at CityCenter, adjacent to Bellagio and conveniently at the center of The Strip.
We arrived around 5ish on Christmas Day, and checked into the Vdara. The room was a very decent size with its own kitchenette, and plenty of room for Bridgette to dance around.

For our Christmas dinner, we dined at Mon Ami Gabi, a French restaurant located at the Paris Hotel. Alan and I had actually dined there before a few years ago, but it was for lunch, and we had fond memories of that place. The dinner ambiance was even better, especially on Christmas evening! It actually reminded me of Boulevard in San Francisco, which is one of my favorite restaurants–warm, inviting, and very sparkly!

Our few days in Vegas were spent just perusing around the different hotels, admiring all the Christmas decor, and stuffing ourselves with fabulous food. Our meals included a lovely dinner at Bouchon, a bottomless king crab leg buffet at the Bellagio, amongst other delicious food. We also made a stop at the M & M and Coca Cola store, where Bridgette got her first sip of the addictive soda (gasp!). She made a funny face after the first sip, then broke into a smile and said ‘Mommy, that was so yummy! Can I have more?’ Oops!

Thanks Balkee for the great photos!
