Halloween has always been one of Bridgette’s favorite holidays and I don’t think she’s ever going to outgrow it, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Dressing up is fun, and Halloween gives all of us the perfect excuse to do so no matter how old we are!
My cousin, Prascilla, has been generously sponsoring Bridgette’s Halloween costumes for the past few years. She lets Bridgette pick her costume from Chasing Fireflies. If you’ve ever seen their catalogue, it is absolutely amazing. The costumes look like they came right out of a movie set!
Bridgette has such a hard time narrowing herself down to ONE costume and this year, it was a toss up between several. She finally chose the Harajuku Batgirl costume because of her newfound love for cosplay and Japanese-everything. I was secretly hoping she’d pick that one because I thought it was pretty special.
Bridgette looked so adorable in her costume, although the purple wig didn’t last very long. On the morning of Halloween, I cooked us a “spooky” Halloween breakfast, ideas courtesy of Pinterest. It didn’t quite look like the Pinterest photos, but it also wasn’t entirely a “Pinterest fail.” Despite the quality of the presentation and taste, I got the biggest smile on Bridgette’s face when she saw her breakfast that morning. I think that totally made up for my lack of costume on this monumental holiday to her. 🙂
My cousin Jacqueline brought her little Minnie Mouse girl over and we had lunch together at one of Bridgette’s favorite restaurants–TOWN in San Carlos.
After lunch, I dropped Bridgette off with Alan at Box, since they had a Halloween party at the office that welcomed children. This year, Alan dressed up as Green Lantern for his team’s Super Hero theme!
As with every Halloween, we ate an early dinner at home and then Bridgette was off to trick or treat around the neighborhood with her best buddies Elena and Karina.
Oh, and we got a fun little surprise! I had posted a photo of Bridgette in her costume on our family Instagram. Thanks to my hashtags, Gwen Stefani’s brand, Harajuku World found the photo and then posted it in their own Instagram! So cool to see her awesome Harajuku BatGirl costume be featured!
