Valentine’s Day often gets lost in the shuffle of birthdays and Chinese New Year every year, but this year, I did get to celebrate with my two Valentines, Alan and Bridggy!
Bridgette stayed overnight with my dad last Friday, so Alan and I jumped at the opportunity for a date night to pre-celebrate Valentine’s Day. We were able to get an early reservation at Michael Mina at their new location on California Street, and we enjoyed a lovely evening there. We ordered the chef’s tasting menu, plus an addition of their famous foie gras, and it was fantastic! I would definitely go back!
On February 14th, Alan was out of town for work, so I got to celebrate with my other Valentine! After I picked Bridgette up from school, I told her I would let her pick what she would like for her Valentine dinner. She immediately answered pizza, so we headed to mommy’s favorite pizzeria–Pizza My Heart. We each had a slice of their Maui Wowie and enjoyed a quiet, but happy Valentine’s dinner together. Afterwards, we shopped at Draeger’s before heading home to open up the valentine box that Bridgette made at school, stuffed with candies and cards from her classmates.
