We decided to visit the famous @livraria.lello bookstore in Porto and arrived 30 minutes before its opening time, but apparently everyone else had the same idea, so it was impossible to get a good shot on that beautiful red staircase. Bridge suggested we use the long exposure function on my iPhone and it turned out pretty nicely! She just had to stand as still as a rock as people shuffled up and down those stairs around her. 😂
People told us that Jardin Majorelle was a must visit while in Marrakech. It’s a botanical garden that was purchased by designer @ysl and restored in the 80s.
One of our favorite activities in Marrakech was to spend a day with a local family, learning to cook traditional Moroccan dishes from them. We made vegetable tagine, amongst many other dishes, and were in awe at all the colors that went into it from the many vegetables, herbs and spices. We cooked it over hot coal for hours, and the result was fantastic! We’re so grateful to @cooking_class_with_family for opening up their home to us, for sharing wonderful recipes with us, and for teaching us so much about Moroccan culture! Highly recommend that you connect with them if you visit Marrakech.
We’ve longed to visit Marrakech and here we are, finally! First time staying in a riad and really happy with the one that we chose— @72riad. It’s so beautiful and the staff is wonderful! It’s just a 15 minute walk from the main square and conveniently located inside the Medina. Breakfast in the open courtyard often feels like we’re dining in an enchanted forest, though the rooftop may arguably by my favorite place to be…especially during sunset. Have you stayed in a riad before?
Colors, tiles, trams, and more from our week in Lisbon. Seriously though, my favorite part was the pasteis de nata (aka Portuguese tarts). I’m afraid to count how many we consumed…😅 Have you been to Lisbon? If so, what was your favorite part of the city?
Thank you so much for all the encouraging messages you guys sent after watching our episode on @survivalists_byutv. It was such an incredible experience in so many ways, and getting to finally see and share it with others has been wonderful, because much of it has been difficult to convey in just words.
